Uninsured Employers

New York State law requires virtually all employers to carry workers’ compensation insurance.  There are few exceptions.  Failure of an employer to provide Workers’ Compensations coverage exposes the uninsured business to penalties, “stop-work” orders, direct lawsuits from the injured employee, potential criminal action and possible civil liability for the owners and corporate officers.

The attorneys at Lemire & Higgins, LLC defend uninsured employer claims; assist clients in trying to mitigate penalties and sanctions; and seek to resolve these cases in a timely, cost effective manner.
